It started with an outfit question.

One day, I noticed my daughter chatting with Siri on her iPad, asking for ideas about what to wear. She wanted a little help choosing an outfit. That simple moment became the beginning of Mixie.

As a parent, it stayed with me. Getting dressed is one of those everyday moments when children begin to figure out what they like, try something new, and make a choice of their own. I wanted to build something that could help her explore those choices and leave the final decision with her.

Her imagination is part of every page.

My daughter inspired more than the first idea. Her imagination has helped shape the vision, the design, and what Mixie can do. The soft colors, clothing stickers, and scrapbook pages all come back to the same wish: a place where choosing an outfit feels playful and personal.

In Mixie, a child can start with an outfit idea, move the clothes around, add stickers and words, and save a look to revisit. When she opens it again, her choices are still there, ready to change. On a compatible iPad, a grown-up can also enable voice requests and choose an available Apple reply voice. The outfit buttons work on their own, too.

Built with a parent's questions in mind.

Because Mixie began with my own child, the safeguards belong at the heart of it. A little help getting ready should not require a child to introduce herself to the internet.

The app has no account to create and does not ask for a child's real name, birthday, school, email address, or location. It does not require selfies, body photos, or body measurements. Children can begin with the sample clothes. A grown-up can help add photos of clothing, which Mixie processes on the iPad without uploading them to us.

A Parent PIN protects imports and private settings. Voice and on-device outfit understanding begin switched off. Listening starts with a deliberate tap, spoken words can be reviewed, and Mixie does not save audio or conversation history. There are no ads, shopping links, public feeds, or chats with other people in the app.

Coming soon for iPad. Core features require iPadOS 17 or later. Optional on-device outfit understanding requires a supported iPad with iPadOS 26 or later and Apple Intelligence available. Voice availability depends on device settings and installed assets.
